Biography
Michelle Beard (Eureka Springs, AR) has received her BFA in Modern Dance and a Minor in Arts Administration from Texas Christian University. Originally trained in ballet and Horton technique under Amy Kessler, Michelle performed as a company member of Ozark Dance Theater. She has recently studied with TCU faculty including Susan Douglas Roberts, Nina Martin, and Elizabeth Gillaspy as well as guest artists Doug Varone, KT Niehoff, and Charlotte Boye Christianson. She has performed in dance works by Christian von Howard, Stafford Berry Jr., and Kanji Sagawa. Michelle has attended Movement Research’s Summer MELT Intensive with Irene Dowd and Lisa Race, NEW/FRESH/NOW New Year’s Intensive at Alternative Conservatory with Kathleen Hermesdorf, and Bates Dance Festival in Lewiston, Maine. Recently, Michelle has returned from a trip to Stolzenhagen, Germany where she attended the Ponderosa P.O.R.C.H Improvisation/Training module. During the month long module she studied under the founders Stephine Maher and Kathleen Hermesdorf, as well as Kirstie Simson, Rasmus Olme, and Jan Burkhardt.
